Time and Stress

What is stress, and what can stress you out?  Stress, as I found in one book, is “any non-specific demand made on the body”.

I opine that we live in a world (especially in big cities) where everyone is racing against the clock. People hurry to rush off to work, drop off or pick up the kids, run home to fix dinner, and a host of other things that take up one’s time.

And then some people have to deal with questions from others such as:  Why are you late?  This is just another instance that can add stress to one’s day.

I like but I don’t like stress.  Generally speaking, I don’t like the feeling that I have to or am obligated to race against the clock first thing in the morning. Maybe that is why I like to report to work later in the day.  I never feel I have to get up early in the morning and be somewhere.  I can relax and enjoy my coffee first thing in the morning.

Yeah, racing against the clock can be stressful.  And yet at other times I have enjoyed getting up early in the morning and having to be somewhere.  It just all depends on what is going on in one’s life.
